Lisa See’s beloved bestsellers include Snow Flower and the Secret FanPeony in Love,Shanghai Girls and Dreams of Joy. The Los Angeles Times said of her latest novel, ChinaDolls, “A sweeping, turbulent tale of passion, friendship, good fortune, bad fortune, perfidy and the hope of reconciliation.” Lisa See is also a journalist, with articles appearing in VoguePublishers WeeklySelf and More; a librettist for an opera based on her bestselling book, On Gold Mountain She also served as guest curator for an exhibit on the Chinese-American experience at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage, which then traveled to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., in 2001. She was honored as National Woman of the Year by the Organization of Chinese American Women in 2001 and was the recipient of the Chinese American Museum’s History Makers Award in 2003.
